A one-of-one Breton jacket dating to the 1890s, handmade and hand-embroidered by my great-great-great-grandmother in Brittany.

With balloon sleeves and slightly cinched at the waist it features black-on-black embroidered detailing across the front and back. The interior is finished with a pale patterned lining.

More than a century later, the silhouette feels startlingly contemporary.

I am 5"7 and I usually pair it with designer trousers, plain denim or long shorts.
